RPYA Mission Statement

The mission of Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance is to provide a safe, healthy, and enriching environment for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex (LGBTQI) youth of the Inland Empire.

About Us

Hey folks, we are the Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance. We are an LGBTQ+ mental health non-profit based out of San Bernardino. Our mission is to promote, advocate and offer support for LGBTQ+ youth and their families. It's 2020 and RPYA has gone virtual. Keep an eye on our "Upcoming Events" section and our Social Media accounts to find out about our zoom virtual meetings, Instagram Live, and more.

RPYA is a grassroots California non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2001. It is an Inland Empire activity and support organization for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and questioning youth (ages 13-20 years old), their families, and their friends.

Navigating Rage, Restoration, and Resilience

Join RPYA and Doctor Jon Paul for an action-packed two-day event taking a look at racial equity from the lens of the queer community. We will take a look back at what our ancestors have taught us, as well as take a look at what our youth are doing and what lessons we can learn from them. Build your skills, expand your understanding, and join us for this community organizing event that will leave you empowered. The first 50 guests to register will receive our Rainbow Pride Gift Bag as well as vouchers to order yourself lunch delivery to your home.

Our latest podcast is a conversation with Dr. Toni D'orsay, pronouns: Empress, Goddess, and Ruler of all known universes. Toni is a nationally recognized expert on the lives of Trans Folks and is working for Borrego Health to create better systems to treat and support Trans Lives. Toni talks with Gustavo about radical authenticity, collaborative human rights work, and unpacking internalized colonial White Supremacy and Westernization as well as the trade-offs we make under capitalism.

Our community is filled with so many incredible people, people creating, planning, questioning, and working to make life better for intersectional identities in the Inland Region. With MEET THE COMMUNITY LIVE, RPYA will be lifting the voices of those individuals who are walking the walk and talking the talk to get a better understanding of what makes them tick, find out what they are doing in and for the community, and what they want us to know about them.

ZOOM: Political Education and Action Space Tuesdays, 5:00 pm

We are excited to announce we launched a space for political education and political action. For the first few sessions, we will be creating the foundation for the space and the intentions for the discussions.

The group is amid towards youth (14-18). If you are outside that age range feel free to get in connect as we have other all-ages spaces for the community.

ZOOM: Parent & Caregiver Alliance Group 2nd & 4th Tuesday 6 pm

Support for those who support LGBTQ+ youth. Parents, Teachers, Providers, and any adult who lives or works with LGBTQ+ youth are welcome. Topics covered include communication, terminology, relationships, safety, and ways to care for yourself as you're caring for others.

ZOOM: SOURCE Youth Group Every Wednesday 5 pm - 7 pm

Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance's source group is for LGBTQ+ youth who need and want an online space that supports them. Space is designed to support LGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 14-18. We will talk about affirming self-care, protecting your mental health in the pandemic, and resources/support services that center their care focus on LGBTQ+ Communities.

In partnership with Inland Empire Health Plan- Community Resource Center in Victorville, OutVoices is a safe space to build community and talk about topics that impact the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community. This group is open to anyone over the age of 18.

Shared Struggles, Shared Dreams, Harnessing Our Political Power

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day last month, Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance created a three-part series where we held space for local community leaders to discuss our collective struggles and dreams. Shared Struggle, Shared Dream lifted the voices of those in the front lines to discuss intersectional identities in the inland region. We discussed how racism and our identities were affecting our public health crisis during part two of the series. Now we invite you to join us for part three and the last in our series where our panelists will share their experience in organizing for change, advocating, and harnessing our political power to create a community of intersectional identities that can thrive.

ZOOM: Community Chat Session Wednesday, February 10th 1 pm

Dr. Jon Paul is back this week to facilitate a conversation in which we reflect on the last four years, and then discuss the next four years going forward. While we are optimistic that this new administration will bring us positive meaningful change, It is only the beginning of the road to healing for some of us. We will be meeting and interviewing organization founders, CEOs, Case Managers, Community Health Educators, and other subject matter experts who will inform us of the services available in the community and how best to access them.
